KARACHI: The kidnappers of Jamil Rind, the son of Assistant Jail Superintendent of Khairpur Ishaq Rind, have released a video showing him being shot, in an attempt to pressure his family into paying a ransom of Rs20 million.
The video shows Jamil with a gunshot wound to his leg, meant to intimidate his family.
In the distressing clip, surfaced online, Jamil is seen pleading for help as the kidnappers continue to abuse him. In the clip, Jamil says that the kidnappers are breaking his leg and threatening to kill him if the ransom isn’t paid. As he begs for the ransom to be paid quickly, a gunshot is heard, and Jamil is seen collapsing.
Police officials have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to secure Jamil’s release, and they remain optimistic about resolving the situation.
Meanwhile, the local community has begun protesting, demanding swift action and expressing their frustration with how the authorities have handled the case.
