The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has set a deadline of February 13 for the federal government to recover the missing Baloch students on Saturday.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kyani issued a written order following the hearing of the Baloch missing students’ case, instructing the federal government to submit a final report on all Baloch missing persons who have returned home.
As per the written order, the court extended the deadline for the recovery of Baloch missing students until February 13. The order stated that the court is not currently requiring sworn statements from the Prime Minister, Interior and Defence Secretaries, and security institutions. However, if the missing persons are not recovered, sworn statements will be demanded, and legal proceedings will be initiated.
The Attorney General presented a list of Baloch students missing due to enforced disappearances, revealing that 12 cases of missing Baloch students remain unresolved.
The federal government assured the court that no individual would be abducted or forcibly disappeared in the future. The Attorney General also pledged that all missing persons would be recovered at any cost, and individuals involved in illegal activities would be brought to the court of law, as mentioned in the court order.
The court deemed these statements and actions as positive signals for the better future of Pakistan, providing justice to Baloch families waiting for their missing loved ones for several years.
Additionally, the court designated the case of the missing father of Sammi Deen Baloch, who has been missing for over a decade, as a test case for the Attorney General to obtain information from state institutions regarding his whereabouts, according to the court order.
