The head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, will visit Afghanistan on Sunday.
Sources say that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will go to Kabul upon the invitation of the Afghan government.
Former MMA leader Maulana Jamiluddin Mehsud will also accompany Maulana Fazlur Rehman during the visit.
During the tour, discussions on Pak-Afghan relations will take place, and talks will be held on various issues, including interactions with Afghan authorities and discussions on proscribed organizations like the Taliban.
According to sources, the continuous use of Afghan soil against Pakistan will also be discussed during the tour.
On the other hand, regarding his visit to Afghanistan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the Pakistani government has a complete mandate for the Afghanistan tour.
He mentioned that he is willing to engage in negotiations, but the practical ground realities must be considered before moving towards any comprehensive wisdom for talks with the Taliban.
