ISLAMABAD: The Chief Election Commissioner met the PTI leaders, during which the legal team presented the charter of demand while they assured to give the election symbol of the bat.
According to the details, PTI’s legal team reached the Election Commission to meet the Chief Election Commissioner. The team presented a charter of demand to the Chief Election Commissioner. PTI lawyer Barrister Gauhar Khan said that the Election Commission has assured to give bat sign.
Barrister Gohar Khan said while talking to the media representatives that our meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner lasted for 45 minutes. The Chief Election Commissioner said that no chairman is being removed from the party. “Chairman Imran Khan will remain,” he said.
Gohar Khan said, “We also requested the Election Commission of Pakistan to issue a reserved decision on September 23 regarding the irregularities in the intra-party election. Till now, the order for election symbol of Tehreek-e-Insaf has not been released.”
He said that he has requested the Election Commission to give permission to Tehreek-e-Insaaf to conduct a free and fair election campaign through a notification. “The Election Commission has to play its role for level playing field and hope the same will be done,” he added.
