LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has made yet another people-centric decision by rejecting the summary to increase the fare for Metrobus and Speedobus services by Rs 15. The decision was announced during a meeting of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.
Additionally, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi granted approval for the operation of electric buses at Lahore Railway Station and Tagrin Town, with the support of the World Bank. This pilot project will introduce 27 electric buses to Lahore and explore the possibility of extending the electric bus service to Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed the construction and repair of metro bus tracks in Rawalpindi and Lahore. He also approved plans for the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium and Shahadara Railway Station.
During the Punjab Mass Transit Authority meeting, a proposal to introduce diesel hybrid regenerative buses was reviewed.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need for immediate steps to implement the electric bus service and approved measures to address the shortage of human resources within the Punjab Mass Transit Authority. He stated, “We are committed to providing quality and safe travel facilities to the people.”
