Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of the application of the Broadsheet Company regarding the opening of Volume 10 of the Panama JIT Report on the basis of withdrawal on Tuesday.
The request for access to Volume 10 of the Panama JIT was heard by a three-person bench led by the Chief Justice.
Broadsheet Company’s lawyer Latif Khosa argued what was there in the Panama JIT Volume 10 to keep it a secret? Under Article 19A, the people have the right to see how the country has been looted.
Justice Athar Minullah questioned whether the Supreme Court’s five-member panel had made any comments regarding Volume 10 of the Panama decision.
“We won’t go to this side since the Panama case removed the country’s elected prime minister, and you wanted Volume 10 to continue in the arbitration court. The issue has been resolved there, thus your application is no longer valid”, the justice declared.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reportedly spent 28 million dollars for the broadsheet, according to the extra attorney general.
“Do you want the Panama verdict to be reconsidered?” Manullah asked Khosa. Latif Khosa, a lawyer, declared, “I don’t want to go into the Panama judgment.”
Justice Athar emphasized that Khosa is a representative of a broadsheet, not the people of Pakistan.
Furthermore, Khosa was ordered by Justice Athar Manullah to stick to legal arguments and avoid discussing politics because he was there to represent the broadsheet corporation, not the people of Pakistan.
Therefore, it would be preferable if you avoided speaking on behalf of the Pakistani people. The Panama JIT Volume 10 was also cited by the Supreme Court in its ruling, or, if you prefer, the five-member Panama Bench of the Supreme Court preferred one party, the judge said.
Khosa claimed that all he wanted was for the people to be aware of the facts.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Umar Atta Bandyal, stated that the word “Relax” in the English language should be kept by Khosa Sahib because the court’s current discussion is irrelevant to the issue.
Khosa said the best minds were present in the Supreme Court, whose responsibility was to run the country according to the constitution.
Later, the SCP disposed of the broadsheet company’s request to open Volume 10 of the Panama JIT Report on the basis of withdrawal.
