The federal government of Pakistan has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative known as the Prime Minister’s ‘Women on Wheels’ program, marking a significant step towards empowering women and encouraging their active involvement in society.
22,000 Pakistani women will soon receive scooters and motorbikes at a reduced price with a single monthly installment of Rs45,000. This is all part of the Prime Minister’s “Women on Wheels” programme.
The Chairperson of National Commission for Poverty Alleviation Nilofar Bakhtiar said that Rs5 billion has been allocated for the implementation of program and the process of its distribution will be completely transparent.
She stated that 4,000 Scotties belong to each province, federal also has 4,000, while 1,000 to Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) each.
Women earning an amount from Rs30,000 to Rs100,000 per month are eligible to apply for the scheme.
The chairperson continued to say that they will try to benefit the working women and students as well as the polio health workers and women journalists so that they can help in the country’s economic development.
