ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Raja Khurram, and 44 others for holding a rally in violation of Section 144.
Imran Khan, the leader of PTI, had called for rallies to express solidarity with the judiciary, which drew a large number of PTI supporters across Pakistan.
The rallies were organized in response to recent events involving the judiciary and aimed to send a clear message of support for the superior judiciary. PTI leaders have criticized the government for targeting the judiciary and suppressing freedom of speech.

In Islamabad’s F-9 Park, the police launched a crackdown and arrested several PTI workers, including female supporters, for violating Section 144. The FIR was registered in the Margala police station, with the Islamabad police being the complainant in the case.

Despite the fact that the party was not allowed to hold the gathering by the deputy commissioner, PTI took out a rally in the federal capital yesterday to express solidarity with the constitution and the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The administration of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) had imposed Section 144, prohibiting all kinds of gatherings, rallies, and assemblies to maintain security during an international event in which foreign ministers of China and Afghanistan were participating. The police have booked another 180 unknown workers in the case.
The case registered against PTI leaders has further escalated tensions between the government and the opposition party, with PTI leaders condemning the move as an attempt to stifle political dissent.
The PTI has vowed to continue its struggle for democracy and the rule of law, despite the government’s attempts to suppress opposition voices.
