ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi got preliminary relief from the court as a result of the NAB amendments.
The Islamabad High Court has issued a major order against the NAB notices sent to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the case related to Toshakhana gifts, which has given Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi initial relief as a result of the recent NAB amendment.
The court said that the NAB notices were not in accordance with the law, hence no legal status. NAB can issue a new notice by fulfilling all the requirements of the law.

It should be noted that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had challenged the notices sent by NAB on March 16 and February 17, on which Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Aamir Farooq and Justice Babar Sattar issued a detailed 7-page decision.
The court said that if there is an accused, he should be informed of the charges so that he can present his defense. This amendment of NAB shows that it was done to fulfill the requirements of Article 10-A fair trial.
While sending notices to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, Section 19E of the NAB amendment was not fully implemented. In the NAB call-up notices, it is not mentioned whether he is being called as an accused or in any other capacity. NAB call-up notices are also not compatible with the rules laid down by court decisions.
