ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will hear the request to hold elections simultaneously across the country today.
According to the details, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial will head the bench of judges hearing the hearing. The bench of the Supreme Court was delisted yesterday, due to the unwellness of the Chief Justice.
A 3-member bench consisting of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan will hold the hearing today. The Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice will start the hearing of the petition to hold the election simultaneously at 11:30 am today.
The federal government is urging the Supreme Court to respect the decisions of the Parliament, but the Supreme Court decision has not been implemented yet.

The Supreme Court recently ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct the elections within 90 days as per the constitution. The court also allocated funds from the State Bank, but the funds could not be released due to the delay of the government.
Yesterday also, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the Supreme Court to respect the decisions of the Parliament and said that the function of the Supreme Court is not to be a guarantor or panchayat but to give a decision according to the constitution and law.
