LAHORE: Pacer Naseem Shah has clarified that his social media accounts are handled by his manager, after Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela’s birthday message for him caused some confusion.
It may be recalled that on his 20th birthday, Naseem had posted a message congratulating Shadab Khan on his wedding. In response, Urvashi congratulated Naseem on being conferred with an honorary DSP rank in Balochistan Police and wished him a happy birthday.
However, when Naseem replied with a simple “thank you”, it turned out that it was actually a generic response from his manager who handles his social media accounts.
In a statement, Naseem explained, “I was playing a match at that time. You would know that managers of cricketers handle their social media accounts. So my manager replied with ‘thank you’ to all cricketers and celebrities. So when she [Urvashi] wished me, my manager also wrote thank you to her.”
Naseem emphasized that it was a routine practice for managers to handle social media interactions on behalf of cricketers and celebrities, and that his manager’s response should not be made into an issue.
