KABUL: The interim government of the Taliban in Afghanistan has said that the technical work of the TAPI gas pipeline project has been completed.
According to details, while addressing a news conference in Kabul, Deputy Afghan Minister of Mines and Petroleum Ziaur Rahman said that they are working on the acquisition of land for the TAPI project in Herat province.
During the news conference, Afghan Minister Ziaur Rahman said that more than 400 mining areas in different provinces had been surveyed. 70 to 80 mines were also bid.

It should be noted that the TAPI (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India) gas pipeline project was created to bring natural gas from the gas field of Turkmenistan to three other countries involved in the project.
The TAPI gas pipeline project was first proposed in the 1990s but was repeatedly delayed due to security issues, lack of funding, and global political upheaval.
According to an estimate, the length of the pipeline in the TAPI gas pipeline project will be more or less one thousand 814 km through which 33 billion cubic meters of gas can be delivered annually.
Initially, the cost of the project was estimated at 10 billion dollars, while the consortium companies from Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India are working on the project.
