LONDON: A Canadian think tank has declared that there is no evidence to support the claim that Pakistan is funding pro-Khalistan groups such as Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), as the Sikh community living outside India generously supports such groups.
Director of Canadian think tank, Terry Milewski, who is known for his extensive research on the Khalistan movement, made this statement in response to accusations that Pakistan’s spy agency funded the SFJ and its leading figure, Mr Pannun.

The SFJ and Pannun had issued defamation proceedings against UK Conservative Party’s pro-BJP Lord Rami Ranger for making these false accusations. Milewski stated that the SFJ raises money through its own sources and does not need to go to Pakistan for funding.
Terry Milewski is well-known for conducting in-depth research on the Khalistan movement, the Sikh diaspora, and various pro-Khalistan organisations. He is thought to be close to India’s governing BJP. He was asked if he thought that Pakistan provided funding for the SFK during a public online debate.
The leader of a Canadian think tank and author responded that he didn’t think Pakistan’s ISI was responsible for funding the SFJ and its activism. He claimed there was ample proof that Sikhs gave generously to the organisations they supported. Terry Milewski stated: “Considering the reality that the SFJ raises money from its own sources, I have not seen any evidence that Pakistan finances the SFJ.
“I don’t think the SFJ has to go to Pakistan for money. Sikhs have been supporting the SFJ generously. They (the SFJ) don’t have to go to Pakistan begging for money as Pakistan doesn’t have enough money.”
