RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has declared that Judiciary is the Red Line, and has warned of civil war in the country.

His comments came a day after ruling coalition partners of PDM announced to boycott Supreme Court’s proceedings in elections’ delay case.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Sheikh Rashid took a dig at Interior Minister and said only a person like Rana Sanaullah could give a statement on the matter of filing reference against judges. He further added that the same judges who are being condemned by the ruling coalition had previously given judgments against PTI.

The AML Chief pointed out that the government was running away from the election, putting pressure on the judiciary, and killing the poor for bread, which were all signs of danger. He expressed his concerns over the highest record inflation and unemployment in the country, warning that it could lead to civil war.

Sheikh Rashid said that the caretaker governments of Punjab and KPK would come to their end in 90 days, and the result of filing references against judges would be none but zero, which could lead to democracy in the country going towards anarchy. He predicted that the rulers would not even see the day of 8th June, let alone talking about October 8.

He criticized the current government, saying that people did not even have money to bury their dead, and the value of dollar against Pakistani rupee had doubled. He warned that by imposing restrictions on TV channels, the whole country would move to social media.

He challenged the rulers to respond to allegations about trade with Israel and India, adding that those in power would either have to accept the verdict of judges or people on the streets.
