LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has accused present regime of subjecting his party to harsher treatment compared to the one perpetrated upon them during the time of former Army Chief General (R) Bajwa.
In a detailed interview of Urdu News Saturday night, Imran Khan claimed that Bajwa’s agencies were behind the violence and injustice faced by his party. Despite hoping for a change after Bajwa’s departure, Imran Khan stated that the same policies continue and are getting more intense. He also claimed that the establishment deliberately reduced his party’s seats in the 2018 elections to control them.

Imran Khan said he has had no contact with the current military leadership but is willing to talk to anyone regarding the elections.
During the course of lengthy interview, he said that he would not personally participate in negotiations with the government members who had been accused of corruption, but his party members would.
He criticized the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) for disobeying the decision of the three-member bench of the Supreme Court, which will result in the law of the jungle prevailing in Pakistan. He accused the PDM and Nawaz Sharif of dividing the Supreme Court judges.

Imran Khan accused Nawaz Sharif of being behind the recent division of Supreme Court judges and claimed that this was not the first time he had done this. He alleged that Sharif divided the Supreme Court in 1997 for his own interests and that his daughter was now following footsteps of her father.

Imran Khan also claimed that his party is being treated more harshly than during the time of General Bajwa. He accused security agencies of abducting his party’s workers and torturing them.
He accused security agencies of abducting and torturing PTI workers, specifically mentioning the case of Azhar Mishwani, who was allegedly kidnapped for seven days, and another young man who was picked up in Karachi.
The PTI Chairman said disobeying the Supreme Court means that the constitution and law have ended in Pakistan and the law of the jungle has come. He also accused Nawaz Sharif of dividing the Supreme Court judges and making the court controversial. He added that if the elections are not held now, the chances of holding them in October are less.
