ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police started a sudden crackdown at workers, supporters and even photographer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who had accompanied their party Chairman Imran Khan from Lahore to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday, arresting more than a dozen of them.

Imran Khan has arrived at Islamabad High Court (IHC) to get protective bail in at least 7 cases registered against him for the day he appeared at Judicial Complex and the violent events that took place during and after his appearance before Judge Zafar Iqbal.
A series of videos posted by local journalists as well as PTI leaders purported to show police personnel as well as plainclothesmen dragging down Khan’s guards from his vehicles and pushing them into the prison van.
Imran Khan’s official photographer Nouman Gee was also arrested and loaded in the prison van along with some other party workers.

Officials said they were arrested for violating Section 144 imposed in the federal capital.
Local journalist Saqib Virk said Islamabad Police attacked their team which was busy in covering the arrival and ongoing developments at Islamabad High Court premises.

Another local journalist Mughees reported that the man who had acted as human shield to protect a woman during police operation at Zaman Park Lahore, Usman Joura, was also arrested from outside the IHC.

Former MPA Chaudhry Adnan was also arrested along with some of his associates.

SP Hassan Wattoo said they so far have arrested a total of 13 people who were shifted to Ramna Police Station.
