LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that as per media reports, members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate into assassination attempt on his life, were being pressurized to distance themselves from the findings regarding assassination plot against him.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, he said the pressurizing of JIT members further confirms my conviction that powerful quarters were behind the assassination attempt on him.

It may be recalled that Imran Khan was on his way to Islamabad during Long March when on November 3 last year, he was shot and injured along with 13 others in Wazirabad. One of his party worker Moazzam had lost his life.

The JIT formed by the Punjab government investigated prime suspect Naveed, caught from the crime scene on November 3, and questioned many others including police officials to find out the real plot behind the assassination’s attempt.

Speaking about the content of JIT, senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had made series of revelations including the one that the number of police personnel were reduced in order to facilitate the attack, and that not one but three assassins took part in the attempt on life of Imran Khan.
Moreover, Fawad Chaudhry revealed that the DPO Gujarat gave a camera to an SHO to record the confession of the attacker Naveed, and tghe same video was tweeted by journalists Waqar Sati, Murtaza Solangi and Hamid Mir. The DPO was summoned for the investigation but he did not turn up; who stopped him from recording his statement on the matter,” he had added.
