ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared political stability as a pre-requisite to get freedom from the clutches of inflation.

In a statement issued to media here on Saturday, he said economic stability in the country was what needed to prove loyalty and friendship with Pakistan, adding that if someone was trying to push Pakistan towards bankruptcy, it would not happen, God willing.

Shehbaz Sharif, it may be recalled, had come to power with the support of nearly a dozen political parties after overthrowing Imran Khan-led government in April this year by way of a successful no-trust move. Since then, the country is faced with economic upheavals due to inconsistency on part of the federal government which introduced Miftah Ismail as its first finance minister, who was later replaced with Ishaq Dar. Both Miftah and Dar these days appear to blast each other during TV shows and at social media platforms for their respective policies.

Despite getting debt-roll over facility from friendly countries, Shehbaz Sharif led government is now faced with the uphill task of reviving dialogues with IMF which appeared to have been stalled due to aggressive approach of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Shehbaz Sharif in his statement alleged that “those who laid mines in the foundations of the economy were now plotting to lay mines in the foundations of the country’s political system,” adding that his government would get the nation freed from the worries of bread, butter and jobs the way it was freed from ‘corrupt and fake’ government by using power as enshrined in the constitution.

He said political miscreants wanted to spread chaos in order to restrain the world from investing in Pakistan, and so that the flood victims couldn’t not re-settle in their homes. He further said that the selfish and opportunist ‘political villains’ had no role in protecting flood victims from cold, hunger and disease, and it had become imperative to get rid of the politically unemployed elements in order to provide jobs to the unemployed youth of the country.
“The nation has to think that when the country starts moving towards progress and economic development, why all of a sudden the ‘army of chaos and anarchy’ becomes active” he asked, adding that there was no doubt left that the economic destruction in this country was done under an agenda, and that the current political instability was also continuation of the same approach.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that those who broke the trust of the people were now ready to dissolve the assemblies with an aim to create political instability. “Have mercy on the condition of the people of Pakistan, saving them from the torment of inflation and unemployment is real politics,” the PM said in his statement, alleging that Pakistan suffered from toxic inflation due to the economic collapse of the previous four years.
“Let this poison be removed from people’s lives, do not create barriers,” th PM appealed (to Imran Khan-led PTI), adding that only political stability and a charter of economy could strengthen Pakistan’s national security.
