MULTAN: England have been bowled out on 275 runs on the third day of Multan test on Sunday, setting a target of 355 runs for Pakistan, courtesy a century by in-form batter Harry Brook. England’s Harry Brook has now two centuries in five innings of Test career.
The 23-year-old Harry Brook drove spinner Mohammad Nawaz for a 14th boundary to get to three figures, following his 153 in the first Test in Rawalpindi. The right-hander scored 108 runs in 149 balls with the help of 14 fours and a six.
This is for the first time in England’s Test history that their batters have scored 21 centuries in a calendar year. Harry Brook’s hundred today is their 21st in 2022
Earlier, England started the day with a lead of 281 as they eye a series-clinching win. The visitors were dismissed of 275 in their second innings with Abrar Ahmed claiming figures of 4-120. Debutant Abrar finished with a match haul of 11 wickets.
Yesterday at the close of play on the second day, the visitors were 202-5 in their second innings on a turning pitch, which has seen 25 wickets fall in two days, with the solid Harry Brook 74 not out, accompanied by skipper Ben Stokes on 16.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s run chase of 355 runs has been hit by a blow before it has even started with opening batsman Imam ul-Haq in hospital this morning for a scan on his hamstring. A team spokesman said Haq “felt unease in his right hamstring.’ This is his home ground and he scored a hundred in the first Test but was out for a duck in the first innings.
