LAHORE: Salman Shehbaz, son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is reported to have approached Islamabad High Court to get protective bail after deciding to return to Pakistan and get cleared his name from money laundering cases following amendments recently introduced to NAB laws.
Reports gathered by MM News revealed that Salman Shehbaz, who has been declared as proclaimed offender for failing to appear in Pakistan’s courts despite being summoned repeatedly, has finally decided to return to Pakistan after witnessing a lengthy list of personalities being benefited from the amendments introduced to NAB laws.
Salman Shehbaz has filed petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking protective bail, saying “I want to return Pakistan to appear before the court in the case against me.”
He pleaded to the IHC to grant him protective bail for appearing in the court hearing case against him.
It may be recalled that a court had declared Salman Shehbaz and Tahir Naqvi absconders in July this year in a money laundering case against them.
Interestingly, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had written a letter to the UK government to hand over Salman, who was wanted by the accountability watchdog under money laundering charges and famous Telegraphic Transfer (TT) scandal.
In July this year, a Court in Lahore had declared Salman Shehbaz and Tahir Naqvi as permanent proclaimed offenders.
The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) banking crime circle had claimed to have unearthed billions of rupees stashed money in bank accounts of his employees.
