ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday stopped National Democratic Front’s (NDF) MNA Mohsin Dawar at Islamabad International Airport when he tried to leave for Tajikistan to attend the Herat Security Dialogue.
Dawar claimed his name was removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) for two months with the federal cabinet’s approval. He said he was informed that his name was still on the no-fly list when advanced to the counter. He said that he told the officials that his name was removed from the ECL but they said that they have been told not to let him leave the country.
Taking to Twitter, Mohsin Dawar expressed outrage over the move to stop him at Islamabad Airport.

He blamed ‘Neutral Havaldar’ for preventing him from traveling abroad, and said that “stopping an elected representative of thousands of Pashtuns, from traveling to become part of a regional dialogue is a testimony to the fact that in the coming years Pashtuns will continue to become victims of military establishment policies protecting their corporate interests.”
It may be recalled that Mohsin Dawar along with another Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) MNA Ali Wazir and some other party leaders have been key players during maneuvers to oust Imran Khan-led government in April this year.

Before April, both of them were is facing various charges of rioting, provocative speeches. Ali Wazir is booked in four identical cases registered at Sohrab Goth, Shah Latif Town and Boat Basin police stations in Karachi.
The said cases have been registered under sections 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of common object), 500 (punishment for defamation), 505 (statement conducing to public mischief), and other sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) read with the Section 7 (Punishment for acts of terrorism) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
