Sadaf Naeem’s husband, Naeem Bhatti, said his wife had died after falling down from the divider as the long march started moving and after that, the container ran over her.
In a statement to the Kamonki police, he wrote that this was an accident and he neither wanted to initiate any legal action, nor wanted an autopsy performed on his wife’s body.

Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique in his tweet shared a video showing Punjab minister Mian Muhammad Aslam taking thumb impressions of the husband of the deceased on a paper to ensure he does not want any legal action.

Former Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui tweeted that “Sadaf Naeem’s death is accidental, even then the local police should have registered a case under Section 320/279 of the Penal Code and seized the vehicle and arrested the driver.”
