A few days ago Asma Jahangir conference was held in Lahore. Miss Jahangir was undoubtedly a wonderful woman. Unlike the indigenous liberals, her overall profile was not that she was a staunch anti-establishment. Rather, as a lawyer, she was the only hope of the indigent. She was a woman who was helping everyone and needy people without a fee. This is the reason that the short post I wrote on social media on her death said that I would go to her if ever involved in a case again her death robbed us of our possible refuge. Similarly, another important aspect of her personality was that she used to raise the “word of truth” not only against the establishment, but when any of the mainstream parties of the country came to power and adopted undemocratic behavior, Asma Jahangir did not give not concessions to anyone when it was a matter of rule of law.
The Asma Jahangir conference held at Ahoor was a serious joke in the name of this great personality. The conference became very controversial conference. Basically, it was nothing but a gathering of desi liberals. And that is what happened to the indigenous liberals. At the forefront of this were the indigenous liberals who are from the field of journalism. And they shamelessly claim that they speak the truth. We are convinced that they are telling the truth, but with the clarification that some of them are those who tell the truth after five o’clock in the evening, some after eight o’clock at night, and others after 12 o’clock at night. During these times, their wives very discreetly lock their mobile phones and laptops in the cupboard so that their truth does not go anywhere online. These are the moments when their inner self blows away their outward appearance. We are not just being reckless, but we have experienced one of them personally on Facebook at 11 pm some time ago. And the position of his family had also reached us indirectly that we are ashamed that Sahab had taken a little too much. And obviously, the family had forgotten to lock the phone that night.
Manzoor Pashteen also had a role this time on the drama stage organized in the name of an extraordinary woman like Asma Jahangir. And that is what caused all the controversy. If you think about it, this is the same Manzoor Pashteen who before the fall of Kabul was not even bothering the mainstream politics of Pakistan. Then it remained part of the mainstream of Afghanistan. And the shamelessness of such a level that just as the PTI leadership used to proudly share their photos with the generals, the leadership of Manzoor Pashteen’s party used to proudly share their photos with the Afghan generals.
When the Doha talks on Afghanistan started, two and a half years before the fall of Kabul, we wrote in a newspaper, “Now who will sponsor Manzoor Pashteen?” A column was written under the title of And the same question was raised in it that Ashraf Ghani will not be able to stay after the withdrawal of the Americans from Afghanistan. As a result, Manzoor Pashteen will become an orphan. In this case, who will sponsor him? And that opinion proved stone line. As soon as Kabul fell, “Pashteen Wada” fell into disarray. Among them, Ali Wazir went to jail. Mohsin Dawar withdrew from the party and went close to the PPP and Manzoor Pashteen disappeared from the scene for some time. Pashteen spent 12 month hopeless and finally, the native liberals of Punjab came forward as its new sponsors. This indigenous liberal group of the intelligence of Punjab makes us Pakhtuns believe by making an innocent appearance that look how good children we have become that now small provinces. They also give a stage to the crushed voices and support them. But this is not the reality.
The fact is that these indigenous liberals of Punjab are sponsoring mischief in our province. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, this favor is declared only when Manzoor Pashteen has the status of takah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This man and his party are not even the voice of the entire Waziristan. Can the native liberals of Punjab show us the office of this party in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? Can their district leadership and workers be revealed? Punjab’s indigenous liberals are supporting Manzoor Pashteen and the rest of his colleagues solely on the basis that they have been abusing the army. Look at the low level of hypocrisy that these same desi liberals, ignoring the crimes of Imran Khan, are now emphasizing the fact that the PTI chief used abusive language against the army. And on the other hand, Imran Khan also demands the release of Ali Wazir, who used the same language to the lowest level. If this is not duplicity and hypocrisy, what else is it?
Desi liberals of Punjab should understand well that we Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people are not going to be fooled by them. If they had sympathy for Pashtuns, Manzoor Pashteen would not have talked about the real problems of our province, would have done talk shows, made vlogs, and written columns. What truth will you speak for a small province and raise your voice for its rights? If you go to South Punjab, you will not believe that this region is also a part of “Green Punjab”. The one who owns the trademark of the hate could not deceive us.
