In all the countries of the world, including Pakistan, where the epidemic of lawlessness has taken root, the education sector is the most affected, followed by the health sector. The anti-national elements understand very well that if a nation is to be destroyed, the first attack should be on its education and the second on its health. If the nation is sick, who will respond to the attack?
Yesterday, on the second day of the polio campaign in Pishin area of Balochistan, unknown persons fired on the polio team, as a result of which the head constable Muhammad Hashim, who was responsible for the security of the team, was martyred. On the one hand, the martyrdom of the policeman is a challenge to our security agencies, while firing on the polio team shows that some elements are strongly against polio vaccination.
Campaigns against anti-polio drops on YouTube or other social media platforms falsely insist the nation can be made childless by polio drops. The inane propaganda is affecting our chidlren. Pakistan continues to remain among the very few countries still affected by the polio virus. It is a shame we have learnt little in the past few decades when it comes to basic health care.
