ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notices to secretaries of Foreign and Interior ministries, and summoned reports on a petition, seeking to form judicial commission to investigate into the murder of famous anchorperson and TV host Arshad Sharif.
Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing after which he ordered secretaries of Foreign and Interior Ministries to take measures for bringing body of the slain journalist back home.

During the course of proceedings, the Chief Justice asked about the whereabout of his body, on which Barrister Shoaib Razzaq said his corpse was in Nairobi. Shoaib Razzaq alleged that when Arshad Sharif had left the country for Dubai, pressure was exerted on him to leave UAE as well. He requested the court that the circumstances which forced the slain journo to leave the country must be investigated.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah ordered the Foreign and Interior ministries to nominate officers for contacting family of the slain journalist Arshad Sharif, and take every measure to satisfy them. The court also ordered both of the ministries to submit comply reports by tomorrow.
Arshad Sharif was reportedly assassinated by unknown target killer in Kenya, family sources confirmed on Monday.
