Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has thanked the United States government for providing assistance to Pakistan during the flood situation while talking to General Michael “Erik” Kurilla, the Commander of US Central Command, on the phone.
The Commander of US Central Command expressed his condolences for the people of Pakistan amidst catastrophic floods.
The CENTCOM is sending an assessment team to Islamabad to determine what potential support the Department of Defense (DoD) can provide to USAID as part of the United States’ assistance to the flooding crisis in Pakistan, according to the US CENTCOM declaration.
Moreover, British High Commissioner Dr Christian Turner called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and offered UK’s support to the people of Pakistan in this hour of need amid devastating floods.
The discussion covered topics of shared interest and the state of regional security, as well as bilateral collaboration in a number of different domains, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The visiting dignitary expressed his sorrow over the destruction brought on by Pakistan’s historic floods and extended his deepest condolences to the victims’ families.
The British High Commissioner expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to maintain regional peace and promised to do his part to improve relations with Pakistan on all fronts.
The COAS expressed gratitude for the UK’s cooperation and reaffirmed the importance of our international allies’ help in providing relief and rehabilitation for flood victims.
