ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has postponed local body elections in Karachi.
The commission took this decision after reviewing the reports of the police and other agencies. According to the details, while reviewing the reports of the Provincial Election Commissioner, IG Sindh, and other institutions, the local body elections in Karachi have been postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The decision to postpone the elections has been taken in the meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner. It should be noted that the Sindh government had requested the Election Commission to postpone the local body elections in Karachi.
Earlier, on the report of the Sindh government and the Provincial Election Commissioner, the municipal elections in Hyderabad have also been postponed.
