ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan) has demanded the federal government declare the country’s largest cities Karachi and Hyderabad as disaster zones in view of the recent rains and urban flooding.
According to the details, MQM appealed to the federal government to declare the two major cities of Sindh as disaster-prone and also to waive the utility bills of Karachi.
Syed Aminul Haque said that if the bills are not waived, some discount should be given to the rain-affected citizens. Federal Minister of MQM, Syed Aminul Haque, while addressing the House, said that compensation should be given to the families of those who died during the recent rains in Karachi. And there was no encouraging reaction.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said during his speech in the National Assembly yesterday that he believes that the prices of commodities have increased in the last 3 months, but the prices of oil and gas at the international level are not under my control. The government is trying to fix the economy, he maintained.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed helplessness over the economic situation and said that we do not have a magic wand to fix everything in three months. The government is trying to clean the mess accumulated in 4 years which cannot be cleaned in 3 months, he asserted.
