With actor Johnny Depp winning his defamation law suit against Amber Heard, the latter and her legal team have moved to file an appeal.

Despite being forced to pay Depp a sum of 15 million dollars, Heard has decided to contest the verdict. This, though, has riled Depp’s fans, who have one question: where is Heard getting her funds from?

But Depp’s fans didn’t take Amber Heard’s latest move in this long-drawn-out saga kindly.

Several individuals took to Twitter to hit out at Heard following the announcement of the appeal with one user going as far as suggesting she deserves jail time.

“Amber Heard deserves jail time for perjury. She lies about everything and STIFFED THE SICK AND DYING KIDS OF THE LA CHILDREN HOSPITAL but has money from insurance to pay for her appeal? What’s more important?” Commented on Johnny Depp’s fan.

“Now, if Amber Heard can afford an appeal (even minus the bond) why couldn’t she afford to pay the charities? Is her insurance still paying dispute the malice aspect? And why if she just wanted to move on, is she the one not moving on? Many questions here,” one user wrote.

“Jury awards Johnny Depp 10.35M [dollars] in damages… An insurance co. is suing to be absolved of over 8M [dollars] in legal fees due to “wilful misconduct”… Today an appeal was filed, which could take up to a year or more to conclude… So where is Amber Heard getting the money for all this?” a third Depp fan commented online.

For Heard’s part, the filing of the appeal rests on the assumption that the court made certain errors that were not consistent with the First Amendment rules.

“We believe the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment,” read a statement acquired by TMZ.

“We are therefore appealing the verdict. While we realize today’s filing will ignite the Twitter bonfires, there are steps we need to take to ensure both fairness and justice.”
