ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance for the families of the victims of the devastating rains across the country in which the federation and the provinces will play their respective roles.
According to details, rains wreaked havoc across the country, especially in various cities of Balochistan including Quetta, and several cities of Sindh including Karachi. Rains and floods in Balochistan have killed 45 people.
The torrential rains damaged at least 250 houses in Balochistan. Many areas in Pishin were flooded. Levies’ car was also swept away in the floodwaters. Moderate flooding in the Khuzdar river. Two major bridges on Quetta Highway were damaged.

The Tambo area of Kohlu has been without power for the past seven days. Rains across the country destroyed massive infrastructure. Another 23 people have been killed in various accidents. Eight people were killed when water-filled a coal mine in Thatta.
Four people were killed and seven others injured when roofs collapsed in Multan. The Prime Minister said that Rs 1 million each would be provided to the families of those killed in the rains and floods, of which 50 percent would be paid by the federation and the rest of the provinces.
