LAHORE: Noor Zaman has made the country proud and famous by winning the squash title in the under-19 category.
According to a report by a private news agency, Pakistan’s young squash player Noor Zaman bagged the title by defeating Malaysia’s Joachim Choha in the final of the Boys Under-19 category at the Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand.
It should be noted that Noor Zaman has won this title after a lot of hard work while he won the first match of the event 9-11. They failed in the second match and lost 12-10, however, they did not give up and in the next two matches, they won 5-11 and 9-11 to clinch the title.
In April earlier, this year, Zaman also became Pakistan’s top-ranked junior player by achieving his career-best international ranking of 103. The Peshawar-born will also represent Pakistan in World Junior Squash Championship, late this year.
It may be recalled that Noor Zaman is the grandson of former British squash champion Qamar Zaman who won the title for Pakistan four years later while the other 7 Pakistani boys and 5 girls participating in the championship were already out of contention.
