ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he rejects the budget presented by the government.
Reacting to the budget presented by the government on social networking site Twitter, former premier Imran Khan said that the budget was based on unrealistic assumptions about inflation (11.5 percent) and economic growth (5 percent).
He said that today’s SPI 24 percent indicates that inflation will be between 25/30 percent which will destroy the common man. The PTI chairman said that on the other hand, economic growth was stalled due to high-interest rates.

Imran Khan said that all our progressive tax reforms and pro-poor programs like health cards, and successful Pakistan have been stopped. He further said that this is an unimaginable, old Pakistan budget that is creating more burden and misery for the nation.

It may be recalled that a budget meeting of the National Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf in which Finance Minister Miftah Ismail presented a federal budget of Rs. 9,502 billion for the financial year 2013-14.
In the budget of the current financial year, the tax collections have been estimated at Rs. 7,004 billion while the deficit is Rs. 4,598 billion. The budget has allocated Rs 1,523 billion for defense, Rs 808 billion for development works, and Rs 3,950 billion for interest payments.
