LONDON: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif London and resolved to work together on political and national interest issues.
PPP leaders Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, and Qamar Zaman Kaira were part of the meeting, while PML-N leaders Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, and Abid Sher Ali were also present during the meeting at Stanhope House.
Bilawal congratulated Nawaz on the ouster of the “selected government” and Hamza Shehbaz’s election for the Punjab chief minister. Both discussed Pakistan’s overall political situation and expressing their resolve to move forward on national issues in a cordial manner,
‘Democratic conspiracy’
Speaking to journalists in London, Bilawal said Imran Khan was issuing the narrative on why his government was not rescued. He said the coalition government will work towards the restoration of democracy.
“There was no foreign conspiracy against Imran Khan, it was a democratic conspiracy. It was not White House. it was the Bilawal House,” he said.
He claimed that Nawaz’s sacrifices for democracy were evident before everyone. He said that he came to meet the former prime minister as only when everyone is on the same page, can they resolve Pakistan’s issues.
He said the PML-N and PPP will solve Pakistan’s issues once they are on the same page, and all institutions should remain within their constitutional parameters.
PPP Secretary-General Farhatullah Babar had earlier said the PPP chairman is meeting Nawaz to congratulate him on the formation of the coalition government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier said that the federal cabinet was formed after consultations with Nawaz and the coalition partners. However, the PPP reportedly has reservations before Bilawal formally the cabinet.
