ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has started considering and consulting on the option of collective resignations after the opposition made alarming progress on the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
According to details, PM Imran Khan is considering other options after the possible success of the no-confidence motion. If the government fails to address the issue of no-confidence, the resignation card from the assemblies can be used.
Senior PTI central leaders have suggested to the prime minister that it would be better for the PTI members and allies to resign en masse and leave the government instead of playing the role of opposition to the corrupt rulers.

Technically, if the PTI and its allies leave the government, the new government will face a political crisis. Apart from the federation, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly members can also resign from their seats.
It will be difficult for the new government to hold by-elections on a large number of seats. The prime minister is considering the option of holding general elections immediately. It should be noted that PTI has 155 seats in the federation and 145 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
