ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has sought permission for a public gathering at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on March 27 ahead of the no-confidence motion.
In this regard, an application was given to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafaqat by Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill and PTI MNA Kanwal Shauzab, who is also a member of Jalsa Committee. The deputy commissioner said the application has been received and No-Objective Certificate (NOC)will be issued after review.
The PTI wants to stage a power show at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on March 27, days before expected voting on the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Planning Minister Asad Umar has said PTI is going to organise a historic public rally on the call of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Briefing media after a party meeting on Wednesday, the minister said seven organisational committees have been formed with the directions to immediately start mass mobilization amongst the public in every nook and corner of Pakistan.
He said provincial presidents of the PTI have been directed to formulate committees at districts level. He said all party organizations have been instructed to start mass mobilization to participate in the mammoth public rally to express solidarity with Imran Khan.
On the other hand, JUI-F and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has posponed their march on March 23 and directed participants to enter Islamabad on March 25 due to the OIC moot and Pakistan Day parade.
