QUETTA: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Natural Petroleum in Balochistan Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has tendered his resignation, saying the decision is final.
Speaking in a private news channel, Sardar Rind, who is also the parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Balochistan Assembly, said that he had sent his resignation to the prime minister two days ago.
“This is my final decision. I was special assistant only to issue notifications. I had no authority. I was not even invited to any meetings on Balochistan… no one including the federal ministers contacted me for any meetings,” he said.
He explained that previously, he had taken back his resignation on assurances held out to him by Prime Minister Imran Khan but federal ministers had never contacted him on the matters pertaining to the issues of the province.
He complained that the ministers also never invited him to any meeting regarding Balochistan, and thus he decided to resign from his position, saying this time his decision is final and irreversible.
Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind is a veteran Baloch politician who is an MPA in Balochistan Assembly. He was the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Balochistan Chapter and currently Parliamentary Leader of PTI in Balochistan.
On March 23, 2019, PM Imran had approved the appointment of Rind as his special assistant. He was given the responsibility to look after the affairs of Ministry of Water Resources and Ministry of Petroleum.
