KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has set up another National Ulema Advisory Council comprising scholars in the presence of the Islamic Ideological Council to implement the National Action Plan and population control program.
According to a letter issued by the Population Program Wing of the Ministry of National Health Service, Regulation and Coordination, Islamabad, the National Ulema Advisory Council has been set up to implement the recommendations of the CCI.
Only the Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council has been appointed as the Chairman of this National Ulema Advisory Council. In addition to the Director-General of Population and a former Member Population Specialist, a total of 14 scholars have been appointed.
Among the scholars included Mufti Zameer Sajid, Maulana Tahami Bashir Alvi, Muhammad Javed Hafizi, Pir Shafaat Rasool, Mufti Muhammad Zahid, Mufti Muhammad Zubair, Mufti Ibrahim Qadri, Maulana Dr Bacha Agha, Maulana Prof Syed Habib Shah Bukhari, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab. Qureshi, Maulana Dr. Abdul Rehman Khalil.
According to the letter signed by Director General Dr. Sabina Durrani, the orders of FATF, National Declaration and 8th Amendment to the National Action Plan will be implemented. Seminars will be organized for population stabilization.
In addition, the scholars have been tasked with promoting the population control agenda and providing awareness and counseling with Islamic philosophy, evidence, and sentimentality.
