Insaf Health Card not applicable for treating major diseases

LAHORE: It has been declared that the federal government’s much-talked-about health card scheme does not cure major diseases. Due to such conditions, patients receiving health cards are facing severe difficulties due to the non-treatment of major diseases in hospitals.

Sources said that treatment up to Rs. 1 million can be provided free of cost through Health Card. However, it is not yet clear whether this facility will continue for life after the issuance of the card or it can be withdrawn or terminated at any time. The limit is specific to the cardholder, is it for the whole family? Once in a lifetime or once a year, it’s not even clear.

What is a health card?

1. In case of admission in public or private hospitals allotted for the Health Justice Program through the New Pakistan Health Card, treatment will be provided free of cost.
2. The treatment fee will be deducted from your card.
3. In the case of preferential treatment, initial coverage will be Rs. 300,000 while additional coverage will be Rs. 300,000 per annum.
4. In primary coverage for secondary treatment, each family will get a facility of 60 thousand while in case of additional coverage, 60,000 will be available annually.

Preferred treatment

1. Treatment of heart disease.
2. Treatment of complications related to diabetes.
3. Accidental injuries, ie bone fractures.
4. Accidents on the road.
5. Treatment of heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs.
6. Jaundice and black jaundice.
7. Cancer treatment.
8. Nervous system surgery.
9. Treatment of end-stage kidney disease.
10. Preferential treatment also includes a free one-time check-up facility after discharge from the hospital.

Secondary treatment

1. Maternity.
2. Normal delivery.

4. Complications of maternity surgery.
5. Examination four times before birth.
6. Examination once after birth.
7. One-time examination of the newborn baby.
8. Medications one day before admission and five more days after discharge from the hospital.

Diseases that will not be cured

1. OPD facility will not be available.
2. There will be no facility to correct the opinion.
3. There is no cure for expulsion from nuclear facilities or being affected by nuclear weapons.
4. Those injured in war, riots, or terrorist attacks will not get relief.
5. Deliberate self-injury, psychiatric disorders, mental illnesses will not be cured.
6. There will be no AIDS, laboratory tests, cosmetic surgery, dental treatment.
7. Injuries during sports or competitions will not be treated.
8. There is no cure for natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes.
9. There is no cure for coronavirus and other epidemics.
10. An infertility treatment facility will not be available.
