KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has rejected the new local government (Amendment Bill) of the provincial government, after which he and the chief minister have clashed.
According to details, the Sindh governor rejected the provincial government’s amendment bill on local government, raising objections. The governor said that there would be a severe financial crisis in the municipal corporation.
The governor sent the amendment bill back to the Sindh government after objections. The objections raised by the governor to the bill include the point that a secret ballot would pave the way for horse trading.

The amendment bill also alleges that the abolition of DMC would create coordination problems. After the objections were raised by the Governor of Sindh, the local government Amendment Bill was returned to the Sindh Government.
Earlier, CM Sindh Chief had said that the new law on local bodies suggested towns opposition. “No matter how many alliances the opposition may form, we will empower the local bodies,” he said.
