KARACHI: The former principal associate professor of physics at Islamia College Syed Nadeem Haider has been suspended from his designated post over personal dispute.
According to the sources, Haider’s salary has also been on hold. It is learned that a notification No. (HR-V) T&P/2021 was issued on 26th May by the Department of College Education in which Shehzad Akhtar, Superintendent, Government Boy and Girls Murad Memon College, Grade 17, was transferred to Government Islamia Science College and Grade 17 Superintendent Abdul Ghaffar Khan was transferred from Islamia College to Murad Memon Goth College.
Shehzad Akhtar came to the college for posting the said letter which was issued on WhatsApp. A Grade 17 Section Officer posted the news in the Department of College Education after which Haider was threatened to be removed from the post as an associate professor of Islamia College.
Notification No. SOI (SGA & CD) -2/1/2021 (E-20) was issued on 29th June to replace Principal of Islamia College Syed Nadeem Haider by Hafeez-ur-Rehman, a professor of Grade 20. He was removed from the post and re-appointed as Principal. Nadeem Haider was directed to report to the Department of College Education.
Later, on 2nd July, Syed Nadeem Haider, former principal of Islamia College, submitted an application to Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary, Department of Education, stating, “I am Syed Nadeem Haider, Associate Professor, Grade 19 Physics. I have been transferred here. I will be allowed to join so that I can do my job.” After which Secretary College Education Khalid Haider Shah, according to the rules, called for a vacancy post from Director General Colleges Grade 19 Officer Rashid Mehr.
In which D prepared the proposal through the Director Colleges, Hafiz Abdul Bari Andhandar, Director Colleges of Karachi sent the proposal on 10th August through the Director-General Colleges for the transfer of two Grade 19 officers.
In this summary number No.DEC / K / Admn-1 (HR) / Tr & Post issued by Regional Director Colleges Karachi, it was written that Asma Noor, Principal Grade 19 Associate Professor of Chemistry of Government Delhi College has been transferred to Government Degree Girls College.
Syed Nadeem Haider, Associate Professor of Physics, Grade 19, should be transferred as Principal in this Boys’ College due to which the salary of officer Syed Nadeem Haider could not be released nor could he be posted.
It should be noted that due to the superintendent of Islamia College Shehzad Akhtar and section officer, Associate Professor Syed Nadeem Haider has been facing severe financial difficulties due to the non-issuance of salary for the last six months.
Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah was contacted in this regard but he did not receive the call. It is to be noted that Secretary College Haider Shah has appointed Grade 19 Associate Professor in the post of Director General Colleges of Grade 20, contrary to court orders, who remained absent for 15 years of his service.
This was stated by the then Director Colleges Professor Inam in his ACR in 2015. On the other hand, Secretary College Education Khalid Haider Shah has been transferred to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the federation has also given him notice for not reporting there.
