Is Ayesha Akram playing a woman card?

When the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case came to light on August 14 this year, the entire nation was shocked. One side blamed Ayesha Akram for the harassment while the other was seen arguing in favour of the woman.

However, a recent audiotape of a telephonic conversation between a TikToker Ayesha Akram, who was assaulted and molested by a mob at Minar-i-Pakistan, has turned the case.

A new development has taken place in the Minar-e-Pakistan case after an audiotape between Ayesha Akram and Rambo has surfaced. The police seized Rambo’s phone and found a recording of a telephone conversation between him and Akram.

In the 25-second audiotape, Tiktoker Ayesha Akram and Rambo purportedly talk about extorting money from all the suspects who have been arrested so far.

The two TikTokers discussed the number of suspects arrested and how much money should be taken from them. They reportedly also discussed that most of them belong to a low income group. In the audio, Ayesha told Rambo that people can hardly pay Rs550,000.

Ayesha, suspects blame each other

On Friday, Lahore Police have arrested eight suspects on charges of assaulting Ayesha Akram at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park on Independence Day. According to Lahore Investigation DIG Shariq Jamal Khan, the recent arrests have been made on the basis of a supplementary statement submitted by Akram in writing.

In her recent statement, Akram nominated 13 suspects, including her associate Amir Sohail alias Rambo, who had accompanied her to Greater Iqbal Park on the day of the incident.

Sohail is among the eight arrested suspects. She held Sohail responsible for the incident, in which she and her companions were harassed and assaulted by a large crowd.

Akram told police that Sohail had planned the incident, further accusing him and some of his companions of recording her obscene videos. She said Sohail had been using those videos to blackmail her and had extorted Rs1 million from her till now.

“I have been giving half of my salary to him,” she said, adding that Sohail, along with one of his partners, Badshah, had been running a “TikTok gang”.

Is Ayesha Akram playing a woman card?

Initially, Ayesha Akram had blamed law enforcement agencies and the mob for Minar-e-Pakistan incident. In an interview with well-known anchor Iqrarul Hassan, Ayesha named Rambo his associate.

Some Netizens believe that Ayesha played- women card- to gain fame and they have requested to investigate her. Until the case is finally decided, nothing can be said about those responsible for the incident.
