ISLAMABAD: The nation will observe Youm-e-Istehsal on Thursday (tomorrow) to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people on completion of two years of military siege of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
It was on the 5th August, 2019 that the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir was scrapped by the Modi government. A host of events have been arranged in order to denounce the Indian unilateral illegal actions against Kashmiri people as well as the atrocities being carried out by the Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Solidarity walks of one mile will be arranged in all the main cities including the federal capital. President Arif Alvi will lead the walk in Islamabad. The participants will wear black bands and carry the flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
One minute silence is to be observed across the country. Traffic to be halted for one minute and sirens will be played. Television channels will play Pakistan and AJK national anthems immediately after one minute silence.
Posters and billboards have been displayed at the main roads of Islamabad and other provincial capitals to highlight the plight of Kashmiri people and expose the atrocities being committed by the occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Ten Days of Resistance
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has reiterated its appeal to the people of Kashmir to observe August 5 as a Black Day to register protest against the brazen attack on their movement for right to self-determination.
The APHC spokesman in a statement said the unwavering commitment of the brave people of Kashmir has time and again dashed the nefarious designs of India to the ground and have displayed a remarkable resistance unparalleled in the history of contemporary world.
He denounced the use of brute force and other tactics by India against all the sections of IIOJK including traders, transporters, labourers, employees, intellectuals, writers, lawyers, journalists and politicians.
He said India emerging as a police state is highly mistaken if it thinks that it will succeed to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Kashmir by using its aggressive military power.
The spokesman expressed the hope the people of Kashmir will observe Ashrah-e-Muzahamat (Ten Days of Resistance) from August 5 to 15th of August shall be followed in letter and spirit.
The APHC spokesman strongly condemned the ruthless and inhuman behaviour of Indian regime to victimise the detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists by shifting them to different jails across India.
He urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights (UNHCR) to take cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails and urge New Delhi to allow the world human rights organizations visit to these jails to take stock of the deplorable condition.
