ISLAMABAD: Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil was being “forced” to share a picture of his daughter after another woman’s picture was incorrectly posted to social media after the news of her abduction broke.
Taking to Twitter, the Afghan envoy apologised for sharing his daughter’s, Selsela Alikhil, picture, saying that he felt compelled to share it after some other woman’s picture was posted incorrectly on social media.

In another tweet, he wrote, “Yesterday my daughter was kidnapped from Islamabad and beaten heavily, but by Allah blessing escaped. She feels better now.”

The ambassador added that the “inhuman attack” was being followed by the concerned authorities of both countries. “I express my profound gratitude for the messages of sympathy,” Najibullah added.
A day earlier, it was reported that the daughter of Afghanistan Ambassador to Pakistan was “assaulted” and “man-handled” by unknown persons in Islamabad. The Afghan foreign ministry, while confirming the incident, claimed that she was “abducted for several hours and severely tortured”.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to utilise all resources to apprehend the people involved in kidnapping the Afghan envoy’s daughter.
