SHARDA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz has lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan for “handing over Kashmir to India”, saying that the masses would not stay quiet anymore.
Maryam’s remarks came as she addressed a rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Sharda town in relation to the upcoming elections. “Nawaz Sharif and I are pure Kashmiris, I see Nawaz Sharif in every participant of the rally,” she added.
“The premier throws Kashmir to India and then asks Pakistanis to observe a two-minute silence,” said the PML-N vice president and added that the masses will not stay quiet anymore.
Maryam observed that people were burdened by inflation and Imran Khan’s name brought ‘memories of long queues outside sugar and flour stores’. “The elderly stood in line and they were given a mere 1.5 of sugar. Can 1.5 kg of sugar be enough for a house of 10 to 12 people?” she asked.
She reiterated that Imran stole the 2018 elections on the slogan of a bat. “His (Imran Khan) slogan should be of Kashmir’s betrayal, sugar theft and expensive flour instead”, she added.
“How would someone who came to power with the help of selectors know about freedom. How will those who stole votes through creating a fault in the RTS system know about freedom,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz added that that PML-N has now learnt how to deal with its opponents. “We know how to take back our seats from these vote thieves,” she added.
The PML-N vice president also urged the audience to participate robustly with the whole families in the July 25 elections. “Promise me you will guard your votes until the results are announced,” she said.
Maryam said that the “lion” will emerge victorious in the valley on July 25, referring to the PML-N election symbol.
