Bombing of Gaza: Why is Israel conspiring against Muslims?

Reading Time: 3 mins read

Israel’s persecution of Palestinians has become a matter of alarming concern for all Muslims around the world, including Pakistan as attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the worst religious crimes, while Israel has once again violated the ceasefire once again.

Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement for the third time by bombing the Gaza strip and claimed that Hamas’ weapons factory and militant training center have been destroyed.

With the alleged backing of the United States, Israel targets Palestinians whenever it wants, without sparing Palestinian women and children. On the other hand, talks over handing the management of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Saudi government are underway. Let’s just consider what if Israel is conspiring to make Muslims fight against each other?

Israel-Gaza ceasefire conflict

On this day, two months ago, a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas in the Gaza Strip took place. Despite this, the Israeli army accused Palestinians of launching balloons carrying tear gas grenades and in defense, ended up bombing Gaza for the third time. Tragically, Israel did not provide any evidence of gas grenades.

About two weeks ago, Israel sent troops and opened fire on mosques in Jerusalem during Friday prayers which injured several worshipers in the attack. As soon as the new prime minister Naftali Bennett was sworn in, Israeli forces began bombing.

Managing Al-Aqsa Mosque

According to Arab media, Israel has started considering handing over the management of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is located in Jerusalem to Saudi Arabia.

According to media reports,  Israel has agreed to form a council to manage the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under which the Saudi government will now play its part in the management of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Earlier, a ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and Jordan after a seven-day war that took place in the 1960s. Jordan was made the custodian of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the condition that it does not resist in the disputed area.

Role of United Nations

The United Nations has been a silent spectator on the Palestinian issue for the most part. Statements are certainly made on the conflicts, but when it comes to action against Israel, sadly no progress is witnessed.

Last month, the United Nations accused Israel of flagrantly violating international law by expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, urging the country’s new government to halt their enlargement immediately.

UN Mideast envoy Tor Wennesland, in a briefing, said that he was ‘deeply troubled’ by Israel’s approval of a plan to add 540 housing units to the Har Homa settlement in East Jerusalem as well as the establishment of settlement outposts.

Military operations and killings

António Guterres, who is the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said that 295 Palestinians, including 42 women and 73 children, were killed by Israeli security forces and 10,149 were injured during demonstrations, clashes, search-and-arrest operations, airstrikes, shelling, and other incidents in Gaza between March and June this year.

According to Pakistani media, there were 11 days of fighting between Israel and Hamas in which more than 250 people were killed, most of them in Gaza, including 66 children and 38 women. More than 500 homes were destroyed and 72,000 Palestinians became homeless.

Managing Al-Aqsa Mosque

Some Muslim communities had earlier hoped that Israeli atrocities would decrease after the end of the 12-year rule of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, but sadly the opposite happened. Unlike Pakistan, in countries like the United States and Israel, governments change but policies don’t.

In such a situation, no good can be expected from Israel, a country that has long ousted millions of Palestinians from their homeland.

It is possible that Israel wants a dispute among Palestinian Muslims globally through the matter of handling the management of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Saudi government. However, the oppressed Palestinians and Hamas are well aware of the state’s tactics of oppression.
