Monsoons and floods have wreaked havoc in India, the neighbouring country of Pakistan where coronavirus was already causing hurdles.
A well-known journalist Uzair Rizvi on his Twitter account claimed that people in the northern and eastern parts of India, who gave up the bodies of their loved ones to the Ganges river or buried them in shallow graves on its bank during the peak of coronavirus, are facing huge issues because of the flood.

The well-known journalist wrote that some people buried their loved ones in a grave on the banks of the Ganges while the incident took place at the height of Corona. Now the monsoon rains have begun and the floodwaters are forcing bodies on the land, he tweeted.
Due to coronavirus, the situation in India is quite alarming as 33,62,848 people have been infected with the virus and 398,484 people have died until now. In the last 24 hours, 1,149 more civilians fell victim to the virus.
Last month, news broke in the international media that India’s holiest river, the Ganges, had been filled with corpses. Hundreds of bodies were found floating or buried on the banks of the Ganges at various places.
People in and around the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh feared that most of the people had died from the coronavirus, which was buried on the banks of the Ganges. The bodies lying in and around the Ganges river show that official figures are not accurate, but that the number of people affected and killed by the virus is much higher, with less land to burn.

First, on 10th May, 71 bodies were swept away in Uttar Pradesh and reached the riverbank in the neighboring state of Bihar. According to Indian police, most of the decomposed bodies were autopsied and DNA obtained.
The bodies of Indian nationals were later buried in pits on the banks of the river. According to officials, the bodies of the deceased were dumped in the river due to a lack of cremation arrangements.
Police also set a trap in the river to retrieve the bodies. On 19th May, last month, the bodies of dozens of people were found on the river bank bitten by the animals. Locals said the bodies had been floating for days.
According to locals, the corpses were causing a foul smell, which was reported but no attention was paid to it and when the news started appearing in the newspapers, the Indian government took action.
