Here is why we need Islamisation not Feminism and Aurat March

Reading Time: 2 mins read

‘Meri Jism Meri Marzi’ has become a controversial slogan since last Aurat March. According to the so-called local feminist, “Your thoughts are dirty our placards are fine. Ask us what we mean?” The Aurat March had caused serious provocation in the society because of the obnoxious slogans displayed by the participants.

It’s disastrous not only for the society but for our strong family system, the institution of marriage and above all for women themselves. Instead of addressing the issues facing Pakistani women, the Aurat March scheme promises unchecked ‘freedom’- which can’t be given to anyone whether man or woman – promoting rebellious attitudes.

Many of the slogans could not even be reported by the mainstream media for being so disgusting and indecent. ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’ slogan already stands exposed. This is borrowed slogan from Western World. This slogan was first originated from Red light area of Brazil.

The original slogan was, “I am a proud prostitute; My Body My Choices.” It was raised by a sex worker rights advocate Gabriela Leite. Originally it was prostitute movement and later North American women copied this slogan with few amendments. Their main demands were Abortion should be legalized; Organ markets should be legalized; Gay marriage to be legalized; Laws against prostitution should be abolished; The War on Drugs should be abolished

Here I want to mention that technological evolution is much faster than human evolution. Layman receives too much information, but unable to process it into productive material. Same happened with Desi feminist. With the development of informational technology, they came to know, woman empowerment.

Their slogan, “Maira Jism Meri Marzi” is totally misleading and diverting the attention from real issues of woman. I suggest that “Meri Zindgi Mera Faisla or Meri Zindagi Mera Haq” should be the slogan of our women, which clearly conveys the message and does not look offensive.

The real issues, Pakistani women, are facing: Rape; Mental /physical abuse; Child marriage; Child abuse; Harassment; Violence; Discrimination; Honor killing. This slogan is causing severe destruction to our norms and culture. Therefore, what we need here is not westernisation but Islamisation of society.
