LAHORE: Educational institutions in Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will now be open for five days a week as usual from today.
According to details, normal classes of educational institutes have been restored in three provinces of the country for five days a week from today. On the other hand, the educational process is going on as usual under Corona SOPs across Sindh the country.
Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood last week announced that educational institutions across the country would be open five days a week from today. As per the PTI’s federal government’s decision, all educational institutions across the country were to be open five days a week, but the Sindh government refused to implement the decision.
In Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, children’s attendance will be up to 50 percent. It may be recalled that till the coronavirus completely ends in Sindh, educational institutions under SOPs will be bound to call only 50 percent of the students.
Earlier, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that 100 percent student attendance in schools across the province will not be allowed until the COVID-19 pandemic is eliminated. The number of infections had decreased over the past few weeks, however, stressed that the virus has not been completely eradicated, he informed.

It may be recalled that due to coronavirus, all the educational institutions were closed from 15th March last year, while educational institutions in Sindh were closed since the first case came to light on 16th February 2020 in Karachi.
After a six-month-long shutdown, the educational institutions reopened on 15th September but were reopened on 26th November due to the second wave of epidemics.
Activities were restored in educational institutions across the country from 1st February, and the government-mandated the implementation of coronavirus SOPS in educational institutions.
