LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain has checked himself into a hospital after his coronavirus test came positive, according to reports circulating on social media.
According to a Tweet by a senior journalist, “Altaf Hussain suffering from Covid-19, admitted in a London hospital for the last 10 day. In a very serious condition.” However, MQM’s official twitter account has not posted anything yet.

In an earlier post on Jan 23, MQM official account tweeted, “Mr Altaf Hussain got ill. After check-up, doctor advised him to rest and suspend his political activities. MQM’s Central Coordination Committee has appealed to the workers and people to pray for the early recovery.”

Another 23,275 people in Britain have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 3,796,088, according to official figures released on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Britain also reported another 1,200 coronavirus-related deaths, taking the country’s death toll to 105,571. These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.
