PDM pursuing conflicting narratives, says Shibli Faraz

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz has asserted that opposition parties, under the banner of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), were pursuing conflicting narratives.

In a tweet, Shibli Faraz said, “Bilawal’s insistence on the no-confidence motion, Ahsan Iqbal’s qualms on it and party’s Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s stress on a long march is clear proof of PDM falling apart.”

“One PDM and multiple narratives,” remarked Faraz in a tweet. He further said that the opposition alliance was making its way back to the Parliament after being rejected by the masses.

“The 10-party opposition had set out on roads to mislead the public and are making their way back to the Parliament after being rejected from the masses,” the minister concluded.

Reports of differences between both the parties emerged on January 24 after PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal disagreed with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recommendation of tabling a no-confidence motion in parliament.

Ahsan Iqbal demanded Bilawal Bhutto to “show numbers” to back up his suggestion of a no-confidence motion against the incumbent government. Bilawal had last week hinted at the possibility of ousting the PTI government through a no-confidence motion.
